There will be 5,000 new 'healing Yew tree hedging plants' and 4,280 herbaceous perennial plants
King Charles III will create a new 'climate-friendly' Topiary Garden at Sandringham House to improve its biodiversity.
Working with award-winning landscape designers, Landform, the sustainable plans include introducing 4,280 herbaceous perennial plants and bulbs, 5,000 'healing Yew tree hedging plants', and blooming yellow and pink rose varieties. Works are set to begin on Monday 23rd January and will be finished in May, just in time for the summer season.

The garden is being designed to 'create joy for visitors', with features also including a maze of new paths, and the regrading and straightening of sloping banks. With plenty of seasonal colour, it will create a rich source for pollinators and the provision of new habitats.
The sprawling lawn, which has been used to host garden parties over the years, was previously used to grow crops for the 'Dig for Victory' campaign in WW2 and was a partitioned garden known as a Parterre back in the 1800s.
"In recent years, with changing weather patterns the current expanse of lawn has been affected by warm weather and excessive rainfall," the team at Sandringham say. "The newly developed Garden will introduce new species that are more robust, hardy and better able to withstand the impact of emerging weather patterns. A series of gravel paths will also enable visitors to experience the new Garden and provide maintenance access to the plant beds."
A statement on the website says Sandringham Gardens will reopen to visitors in early February as the work continues, with minor diversion routes around the West Lawn area.
Landform is headed up by Mark Gregory, RHS Chelsea Flower Show Gold Medal Winner. Specialising in high quality gardens and landscapes, Landform has built more than 100 gardens at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show over 30 years.
