Marriott's new lifetime elite dashboard

Marriott Bonvoy lifetime elite status is popular with many travelers, especially since the elite night credits you can earn with select Marriott Bonvoy credit cards count as qualifying nights for elite status and lifetime status. Plus, Marriott counts award nights as qualifying nights for lifetime elite status.

Now, some lifetime Marriott members are getting a few new benefits. A Marriott spokesperson told TPG that it is sending emails to its Lifetime Platinum and Lifetime Titanium members today about a new lifetime recognition page. On this page, Lifetime Platinum and Lifetime Titanium members will see the following:

The lifetime recognition page — including the statistics and luggage tags — is only available to Lifetime Platinum and Lifetime Titanium members. TPG got an advance peek at what these lifetime recognition pages will look like (the member named Lucas, whose page we show throughout this post, doesn't exist).

In this post, I'll show you the new dashboard and gift. I'll also share the most redeemed properties and cities for the Lifetime Platinum and Lifetime Titanium communities. Let's get started.

Earning lifetime elite status with a loyalty program allows you to continue enjoying elite benefits even if your travel decreases.

Some travelers strive to earn lifetime elite status, while others snag lifetime elite status as a byproduct of utilizing a loyalty program for many years.

Marriott Bonvoy currently allows its elite members to earn lifetime status at three different tiers:

Some Marriott Bonvoy members hold Lifetime Titanium Elite status. Although this status isn't available anymore, legacy SPG Lifetime Platinum members who completed 750 nights were grandfathered into Lifetime Platinum Premier, which became Lifetime Titanium during the Marriott and SPG merger.

Lifetime Platinum and Lifetime Titanium members can now access a personalized lifetime recognition dashboard. While the idea of a new dashboard might not sound exciting, the dashboard contains a lot of interesting information that will likely appeal to Marriott loyalists.

The new dashboard allows members to see data about their stays that they likely haven't seen before, including total nights, total points earned since 2006, total points redeemed since 2007, favorite hotel brands based on stay history, and most visited cities.

Plus, the dashboard allows you to download an image with your lifetime statistics that you can share on social media. Here's an example of what Lifetime Platinum and Lifetime Titanium members can download and share.

A Marriott spokesperson told TPG that facilitating this information-sharing is "a first step in creating a lifetime community that we hope to enable cross-conversation among members in future updates."

And not only can you see your information, but you can also see information for your entire lifetime community. So if you are a Lifetime Platinum member, you can get an idea of how other Lifetime Platinum members have opted to redeem Marriott points.

As you can see, Lifetime Platinum members have redeemed Marriott points for more than 1,200 Marriott Bonvoy Moments. A Marriott spokesperson told TPG Lifetime Platinum members have redeemed points for 1,232 Moments while Lifetime Titanium members have redeemed 1,234 Moments.

The highest points redemptions by these lifetime communities both involved redeeming points for Super Bowl experiences:

But even more interesting (to me, at least) is the information about the most redeemed properties and cities for the Lifetime Platinum and Lifetime Titanium communities.

As mentioned above, Lifetime Platinum and Lifetime Titanium members can now opt in to receive a set of personalized luggage tags through the new dashboard. Each set consists of a "journey tag" with a vintage map design and a "milestone tag" with a black design.

These luggage tags come in a box within a box. The outer boxes for Lifetime Platinum and Lifetime Titanium are different colors, while Marriott designed the inner boxes to stand on their own and display the tags.

Each luggage tag is made from recycled leather. The box includes a QR code that you can use to provide Marriott feedback.

I may never reach Lifetime Platinum with Marriott, but I'm still excited that Marriott is providing community data to Lifetime Platinum and Lifetime Titanium members. I find the redemption information fascinating given how much these members have stayed in Marriott properties over the years.

A Marriott spokesperson confirmed that the map data on the Lifetime Platinum and Lifetime Titanium dashboards is for the past 10 years (since 2012). The spokesperson also confirmed Marriott determined the top cities and top properties for its community maps based on the number of stays involving any redemption room night. If a city or property is tied, Marriott uses redemption room nights to break the tie.

It's cool that Marriott unveiled this dashboard and luggage tags for its highest tiers of lifetime members. As a Marriott Bonvoy loyalist who currently holds Titanium Elite status and should reach Lifetime Silver status next year, I find the information about the most redeemed cities and properties fascinating.

Although I don't expect Marriott will offer luggage tags to a wider set of elite members, I suspect Marriott will eventually unveil similar dashboards for more members (perhaps starting with Lifetime Gold members). Marriott already has the website designed and data available, so the lift would presumably be relatively low to roll out similar dashboards to more members.
