REVIEW: Pop Eats! Serves Up Colorful, Delicious Dishes at the 2023 EPCOT International Festival of the Arts

Nov 03, 2023

Pop Eats! is a staple food booth available during the 2023 EPCOT International Festival of the Arts. Serving up creamy tomato soups paired with crispy, cheesy grilled sandwiches, along with a sweet almond cake and a glass of bubbly blue champagne, there's a colorful option for everyone!

While it's new to the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts, the Bleu Spectrum is actually a blast from EPCOT festivals past. It last appeared at Wine & Dine Featuring Festival Favorites during the 2020 Taste of EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival. Before that, it appeared at Light Lab in 2017 and 2018.

with Grilled Cheese

This was basically a homemade grilled cheese, made with white and yellow cheddar cheese on white bread. It comes with tomato soup in a cute can themed to the Food Studio. The soup isn't too tomato-y or watery. It's more like a bisque, with a thick layer of cream on top to cut through the acidity of the tomatoes. You can probably skip this unless you really want the souvenir plastic can.

with Pimento Cheese, Bacon and Fried Green Tomato Grilled Cheese

This dish has always been good, though this version elevates it even higher in our esteem. It's probably the best version of this dish that we had even though they’ve had it in the past three years.

There's more tomato in this dish now having both a tomato soup and the fried green tomatoes in the grilled cheese, but it definitely works.

The fried green tomatoes are delicious. The pimento cheese adds a nice flavor to the dish.

It's also nicely toasted. We would return and get this dish again and again!

Layered with Raspberry Jam and Belgian Chocolate

This dessert is brilliant in its simplicity. The chocolate icing, exquisitely moist cake, and raspberry jam mix for one of the best festival treats we have ever had. We know it probably sounds dumb to enjoy a fairly regular cake item at an event with rarer dining delicacies, but it was just made so perfectly. Plus it’ll look great on your Instagram.

From Brooklyn Brewery: "Just as the Pop Art movement created big, bold art for everyone to enjoy, our Pulp Art is a hazy IPA for all. This modern masterpiece is a delicious blur between beer and art, with billboard-sized notes of bright tropical fruit and a refreshingly soft finish. Pulp Art brings juicy refreshment for everyone, from haze aficionados to those just discovering the lush world of tropical hops." The beer also has flavors of "pineapple juice, ripe mango & bright citrus pulp from Citra, Strata & Simcoe hops."

The coolest thing is that it's blue, accented with the colorful pearls. It looks fun, but it doesn't bring anything other than an appearance.

Flavor-wise, it's nothing exciting. The boba pearls don't add any flavor to the drink. It actually tastes kind of cheap.

If you’re buying it to take a nice picture, it’ll work, but don't expect something that tastes good.

Pop Eats! is located at number 22, near Port of Entry as seen on the map above.

The 2023 EPCOT International Festival of the Arts is running from January 13 to February 20, 2023.

Pop Eats! is a personally favorite of ours at WDWNT, and we always find our way here for a grilled cheese and tomato soup served in that iconic Pop Eats! tin can.
