MUSIC lovers can enjoy a wide selection of tuneful offerings in the Klang Valley and beyond.

With a host of musicians available, there is pretty much something for everyone, from rock and pop to blues, jazz and everything else.

Here are just a few places to get your groove on, let your hair down and jam the night away.

SIMPLY JAZZ by Tin Box

Jazz fans in the Klang Valley have another new venue to enjoy. Originally making its presence felt in TREC KL, Simply Jazz by Tin Box has moved to Publika for a whole new groove. Fresh from opening its doors on Wednesday, this outlet looks set to be one that serves up something different. Enjoy live performances curated by none other than Malaysian jazz maestro Michael Veerapen. Tonight, join Wei Li, Junji Delfino, YHFoo and Cliff Wong as they get into the rhythm. Tomorrow night, Veerapen himself is in action with songstress Delfino also lending her vocals to the evening. David Gomes is another regular feature.

Xiong brings a touch of bossa nova and Latin flair to W Dining Bar in Kota Damansara on Saturday nights.

Saturday nights will never be the same in Kota Damansara with guitar maestro Xiong taking the stage at W Dining Bar. Xiong is the first Malaysian musician to receive Brasil's Order of Rio Branco for his efforts in promoting bossa nova. Expect magical Latin rhythms as he keeps it tight with an acoustic in tow.

Folk and indie rock singer-songwriter Azmyl Yunor returns to the Merdekarya stage with Truly Asia next Friday night.

One of the Klang Valley's best purveyors of indie vibes, Merdekarya recently celebrated its 10th anniversary and continues to serve up great vibes from some of the best in the Klang Valley and beyond. Tonight, it's time for something totally different with Santosh L presenting his flavour of original Tamil Soul.

Tomorrow night, get into the thick of it with a triple-header of singer-songwriters taking the stage. Kenneth Leow, Armand Tanzarian and Yuta Tanaka will all take it in turn to entertain. Next Friday, the OG Azmyl Yunor is back with Truly Asia for a night of original folk rock. Next Saturday, it's a double-header with On A Trip presenting original past post rock and Ilmunanti going a bit heavier with alt noise pop.

Open mic slots are also available for budding artists to get a feel for some action on stage. No cover charge but a minimum tip of RM10 for the musicians is expected.

Bobo, and its baby grand, have played host to many a music great and more. After a month of comedic evenings, the focus returns to great music from the Bobo stage. On Thursday nights, troubadour Tam is back to get into the groove with his raspy vocals, and folksy style. Expect nice downtempo ballads to mix it up with more rocking acoustic tunes and a whole load of fun thrown in on top. On Saturday nights, On-Line comes alive as the Temple of Rock kicks it into high gear. Inimitable, and irrepressible, rocker Sharin picks up his axe for some major mayhem with his backing crew.
