Cajun-inspired street food container to relocate to prime Cardiff location - Wales Online

An independent Welsh food business has announced the closure of one site in Cwmbran and will be opening a new site in Cardiff. Tin Can Kitchen, which also has a flagship site in Newport, is closing down its Cwmbran branch and opening in Cardiff.

The Cajun-inspired street food business is known for its restaurant-quality burgers, hot dogs, burritos and loaded fries. The Chicken Tikka Dirty Fries see people coming from miles around to try and they are sure to be a hit in their new Cardiff location.

Tin Can Kitchen is opening on Sloper Road, in the car park of the IB Building Merchants, right next to the Cardiff City stadium. They will officially open on Sloper Road on Friday, November 8 and their last day of trading in Cwmbran will be Saturday, November 2.

The Cardiff container will be open from early morning until late at night seven days a week and deliveries will run from 5pm across Cardiff. Speaking about the closures and the new opening co-owner Barry Fallon said: "When one door closes, another usually opens – two in our case. The opening of Tin Can Kitchen Cardiff is stage one of a wider plan to re-imagine Tin Can Kitchen as a multi-city enterprise. We have plans to open more branches in the coming months."

Tin Can Kitchen had been operating out of Cwmbran since 2022 and it was not an easy decision for owners Barry and Jordan Phillips to close the site. Barry said: “This is the last thing we wanted to do, and we’ve thought long and hard about it. However, a number of factors have influenced our decision – which hasn’t been easy to make – and to ensure the overall longevity of the business, we see no other alternative.
